I just had a hilarious insight.

Despite being a high-impact coach who specializes in communications, I’ve been talking about what I do wrong.

I’ve been letting how everyone else talks about coaching hold too big an impact on how I’ve been talking about coaching.

As a proud contrarian, I know better than to follow the masses.

I’ve been working on this more-or-less solo. Again, I know better; I know how much coaching helps.

But, in all fairness, while I know enough amazing, high-impact, coaches to fill a few full size buses, I don’t know of anyone else who does what I do.

So I’ve been going it alone, using coaches for other areas in life, but not this. Instead, following the paths already trodden through the tall grass before me, which – to be honest – have largely just led me into the weeds.

And then, my brain half cooked after a long sauna session, I started to realize what I’ve been doing wrong.

So I started to pivot–

• towards viewing myself as my own communications coaching client, delivering for myself the same powerful results I create with clients day in and day out. A small but powerful shift in perspective.
• away from what other people are doing. Because common practices rarely align with best practices.
• away from just talking about myself, my experience and expertise – like everyone else on LinkedIn.
• towards what you, my audience and future clients, get in return for the time, money and heart you invest in yourself by working with me.

It’s not about the process, it’s not about the Coach. It’s about your results. What you get, plain and simple.

Coaches tend to talk about coaching in nebulous platitudes. Let’s make it tangible.
